AGSTUD AFRICA

AGSTUD AFRICA is a students’ boot camp that primarily brings students between the ages of 15-28 and experts in the agric value chain, to encourage, motivate, empower and assist them shape their thinking of agribusiness. It is also to identify leaders in the sector and support them to pursue and approach agric as a business.

AGSTUD AFRICA  seeks to achieve the following;

  • To encourage and develop leadership in students.
  • Provide students from agric colleges, universities and institutions a platform to discuss their fears, anxieties, expectations and challenges and help shape their views and understanding of agribusiness, encourage, motivate and award agri-initiatives.
  • Provide a unique platform for employers, farmers’ group, researchers, government agencies, funders and students to network, educate, exchange knowledge and gain insight into the context of the youth’s involvement and career options in agriculture.
  • To connect students to mentors in the agribusiness space who would be a source of guidance to help students develop their initiatives or innovations or provide them mentorship/internship or employment opportunities.

The first edition was held in 2018 under the theme ‘’Growing futures’’ at the M Plaza Hotel in Accra.

  • Agri Conversation for Students and Agribusiness Executives, Ag-Career & Motivational Speeches,
  • Breakout Group Challenge (focusing on technology programming and proposal writing)

The first edition was climaxed with a Presidential Dinner & networking with H.E. Former President Jerry John Rawlings.

    The second edition which comes off from February 21-23, 2019 at the JAK Foundation at Cantonments in Accra has The JAK Foundation as partners. The theme for the second edition is “Growing Futures, Enabling the Agri-Youth”.
